As the year draws to a close, many of us consider gifts to causes that are near and dear to us. I hope you believe in the mission and work of International House and will help us continue to transform lives, both here in Charlotte and around the world.

Many of you know what it is like to be new to this country, or perhaps your parents and grandparents came to the United States in search of the American Dream. If so, then you can understand why it is so important that International House continue to provide ESL and education classes, legal services, and other resources to Charlotte’s vulnerable immigrant and refugee families. You can appreciate the challenges faced by these new arrivals who only seek a “hand up”, not a “hand-out” in order to become self-sufficient Charlotte citizens.

Perhaps International House has been a part of your life, or you simply believe in the great work we do every day that changes lives for the better. Maybe you have enjoyed one of our many free conversation hours. Perhaps you have been blessed with new friends as part of our monthly International Book Club or Doorways group. Or maybe you have enjoyed our “Who’s in the House?” series, met some of our amazing international visitors, or now have a life-long relationship with someone from overseas whom you hosted in your home. Consider how International House has given you a better understanding of this colorful planet of diverse peoples and cultures.

If these reflections move you to action (and we hope they do!), then we urge you to make a gift to International House today. Now, more than ever before, we need the support of our friends in order to be the place where Charlotte continues to welcome the world.

Gifts can be made on our website, www.ihclt.org, or by sending a check made out to International House and mailed to 1817 Central Avenue, Suite 215, Charlotte, NC, 28205.

Thank you for all that you do to make this world a better place!
